Matt MacPhee is homegrown and he knows the local market. He grew up in Ross and attended Ross Elementary, Redwood High School, and UC Berkeley. He has been a Marin resident for more than 50 years, and hopes to be here 50 more!

Matt’s real estate career originally started in property management with Western Real Estate Investment Trust, a San Francisco-based REIT in the mid-1980s. About 25 years ago he decided to add residential real estate to his portfolio, and now his overall real estate experience spans over 35 years. The emphasis of his early career was in commercial real estate, but now he provides residential, investment, and commercial expertise to his clients.

Matt is a Broker Associate at Golden Gate Sotheby’s in Greenbrae. His business has developed over the years through the relationships he builds and maintains with his clients. Roughly 95% of his business comes in the form of referrals from previous clients, other agents, and his personal sphere. His affiliation with Buffini and Company in San Diego – a national business coaching program – has allowed him to develop and maintain long-term relationships with some of the top producers all over the country, and subsequently exchange not only business ideas but also client referrals.

On a local market level, Matt is affiliated with the Top Agent Network, the Marin Platinum Group, and Aalto Coming Soon. These are all networking groups with top producing agents with properties which are initially “off-market” prior to being exposed to the open market.

Matt also prides himself with his industry affiliations as well. He initially served as a director on the MAR board in 2007-2009 as well as the BORPAC committee (local candidate recommendation) and the Education committee. He returned to the Board in 2014 and was elected Secretary on the Executive Committee in 2014. He has recently been elected again to serve on the Board and the BORPAC Committee from 2020-2022.

Matt’s ultimate goal is to serve his clients with integrity, honesty, and efficiency. He has earned a reputation from his peers as an agent who truly goes above and beyond to serve the needs of his clients, all the while maintaining the utmost integrity and fair dealings in the process. His business continues to grow based on referrals not only from satisfied clients but also from other agents who refer their own clients. One of the highlights of working with Matt is his extensive contractor and service provider referral directory. Matt attempts to be a local “Yellow Pages” of sorts – whatever you need, he has a referred vendors and service providers who can resolve any needs, be it roofers, painters, cleaners, arborists, etc… all of whom have proven to be dependable and reliable for him and his clients.

In his free time, Matt enjoys playing soccer and yoga, as well as a deep love for traveling anywhere - nationally or internationally. Traveling always provides memorable experiences and is also a great reminder as to how wonderful life is living in Marin County
